How Neighbor to Neighbor Works

Neighbor to Neighbor provides volunteer transportation to medical appointments, grocery shopping, pharmacy visits and other errands, social service appointments, beauty/barber shop appointments, and other life-sustaining or life-enhancing appointments or events. Neighbor to Neighbor asks for 3 business days notice when a client needs a ride.

To be eligible for service:

  • A Client must be over 60 years old and unable to drive, or over 21 and have a chronic illness or physical disability which precludes driving.
  • A Client must be mobile enough to get into/out of a car with minimal physical assistance from a volunteer.
  • A Client who has Medicaid will be added to the program for any transportation not covered by Medicaid, but will be referred to Logisticare for covered medical transportation.

While Neighbor to Neighbor (N2N) makes every attempt to fulfill a transportation request, rides are provided by volunteers and cannot be guaranteed until a volunteer accepts the ride request. There is no charge for a ride, but donations are encouraged.
